Own the boda that earns your living.
Professional motorcycle financing built specifically for Ugandan boda riders — manageable weekly payments, petrol and electric options, and a clear, structured path to ownership.
Who this financing is for
Baikal boda financing is built for active boda riders and serious first-time riders who need a motorcycle to earn a living, and who can show verifiable income or a realistic income plan. Every application goes through an affordability assessment, a Credit Reference Bureau check, and guarantor verification before approval.
Key benefits
Manageable weekly payments
Repayments are structured around a rider's weekly income, not a lump-sum burden.

Choose a repayment period that fits your motorcycle and your earnings.
Petrol and electric options
Choose the motorcycle type that suits your route and running costs.
Track your loan anytime
View payments and outstanding balance through the Baikal system.

Insurance
You're required to maintain comprehensive insurance on the motorcycle for as long as the loan is outstanding, with an insurer approved by Baikal and naming Baikal as the loss payee. If insurance lapses, Baikal may arrange cover on your behalf and recover the cost from you.
GPS tracking
Financed motorcycles are fitted with a tracking device used for asset protection and loan monitoring. Tampering with the device, or refusing access for checks and repairs, is treated as a default under your agreement and can lead to repossession.
Ownership and logbook transfer
The motorcycle stays registered in the seller's name until your loan is fully settled. Once you've completed all repayment and ownership conditions in your signed agreement, Baikal arranges transfer of the logbook into your name. A logbook transfer fee applies, payable with your final instalment, along with any associated registration costs.
Early repayment
You're welcome to repay early. Speak to your financing officer or branch beforehand to confirm the settlement amount and any applicable terms.
If you're struggling to pay
Contact your branch or Baikal customer care as soon as you expect difficulty making a payment — don't wait until you've missed one. Missing two or more weekly instalments can lead to loan recall after a notice period, and continued non-payment can lead to repossession of the motorcycle. Talking to us early gives us the best chance to help.
Loss, theft or damage to the motorcycle does not exempt you from your repayment obligations under the agreement.
